Original CI/CD, circa 2000s and maybe earlier! Here's what we had and we loved it *wink*
Version Control: SVN or CVS
Build Tools: GNU Make, Ant, or Maven
Testing: JUnit for those who actually wrote tests...lol
Deployment: Perl/shell scripts, or just plain FTP and fingers crossed that prod will not come down! WinSCP or filezilla yay!
Bug Tracking: Bugzilla where bugs went to die... sometimes. Lmao.
It may have been rough around the edges, but hey, it got the job done eventually! 😅

Today's popular tools will be absolute in another 30 years. Someone will make a post like this, making fun of git, scp/sftp/ssh, GitLab CI/CD, Travis, Jenkins, Argo, or Spinnaker. Of course, I won't be around that time to boost it. But someone will make a post for Lulz.

@schenklklopfer They're still in use, sure, but they're not popular or the first choice anymore. Those days are long gone. I don't know of any new projects that use FTP to upload files. It's all about downloading Docker images, injecting your code into them, and automating everything—and for good reason! Sure, automation fails occasionally, but it's still the way to go.

@nixCraft I was svn admin for a while. Ugh, what a nightmare. Lots of debate about whether to set up one giant repo ( good control, clear branch coordination ) or lots of little repos ( checking out one file is less likely to mung your co-worker's workflow ).
