TKIP vs CCMP? 🤔 -
m0xEE (m0xee@social.librem.one)'s status on Thursday, 28-Nov-2024 14:10:26 JST m0xEE @nyanide
You can configure your access point to use either CCMP or TKIP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11i-2004#Protocol_operation
Nowadays on the client you don't have to set up either of them specifically, you only need SSID and the key, wpa_supplicant figures out the rest itself — but it might not always be the case and sometimes you have to try using each of them manually. -

see see @sysrq do you have experience with setting up wifi on 9front using an old thinkpadIn conversation permalink -

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about! Nowadays wpa_supplicant can figure it out, though it used to require manual configuration in the past, so maybe "wpa(8)" does too 😁In conversation permalink -
