     Nostr isn't the answer. I like the general direction of how it handles identitie, but I think being hosted at an instance is important.

     Nostr has a spam problem because you're essentially a guest wherever you go.

     I'm wondering how many of the censorship features people praise are only possible/reliable because there's essentially just one instance...

     Because believe me, if Mastodon's developers could guarantee any of those things, they'd have rolled them out years ago. "Bad actors will just ignore it" is still, somehow, pushback that gargron can (and frequently does) give to those demands.
