     @RowdyRamzan They've been trying to establish a new strategic AD system for the Iranians since last year or earlier. It's why Israel keeps launching air strikes at Syria; they're targeting Iranian AD experts.

     @RowdyRamzan @weaf They guys with manpads would be in visual range of that base. Thats how short range they are. It could maybe cause isssues but i doubt itd take down a cargo plane either. These bases are probably pretty bare though and dont have a full flight line. Now a kalibur off a suhkoi? Thatd be a major problem.

     @Boomerman @weaf It'd raise the costs of occupying those bases a lot and I think that'd make it hard for US to justify it

     @RowdyRamzan @weaf Not really they need SAMs. Manpads are nice but they wouldnt do much in syria against the US. Also wouldn't impact isreal whose actually been bombing them. They likely already have manpads anyway.

     @Boomerman @weaf I know they aren't going to take down muh F35s but they're using helis tonight, and aren't those bases air supplied? Seems like a couple cargo planes going down would be an issue. Forcing them to only use advanced stuff like F35s would still be a W imo

     @DK_Dharmaraj @RowdyRamzan @weaf Still waiting on them to down an isreali f35. I wouldnt hold my breath on the s300s. 400s seem to actually scare them. If were talking about shooting down planes though then they need jets. Preferably those fancy su35s or even better some su 53s

     @Boomerman @RowdyRamzan @weaf I don't think F35s have gone up against S300s yet, I bet they do OK but that "stealth" underperforms expectations, but regardless I don't think they would commit F35s right off the bat anyway.

     @Boomerman @RowdyRamzan @weaf I agree but there are a shit ton of S300s floating around and those are mostly good enough to shoot down whatever at close range
