     @andy It is not stupidity, but intentionality. They are paid to be an antitrust stopgap and so they will make decisions that fall in line with being an antitrust stopgap.

     @darth_mall @andy But please do. Without your donations it’s more difficult for them to pay their CEO several million dollars every year. The half-a-billion dollars they get from Google every year for allowing Google to track people by default in Firefox only stretches so far.

     @aral what are you using for a browser these days? Are you tolerating FF, or have you found an alternative? I saw that Epiphany was adding web extension support and was thinking about giving that a go once that lands.

     @charlesroper @darth_mall It’s the least bad option under capitalism, yes. If we believe the solution requires a Silicon Valley corporation, then yes, Mozilla is the best you’re going to get.

     Can we do better than that myopic vision of what’s possible. Hell yes.

     @aral @darth_mall As I understand it, they're trying to find ways to make money (because the whole business model for browsers is fucked) so they can get off Google dependence. I'd rather have a somewhat dysfunctional Mozilla than no Mozilla. It's like democracy: it's the least bad option.
