@LouisConde Not saying he was wrong to do this, but it really tracks with the normie conservative way of doing things completely within the system. I'd argue that regular Americans avoiding Disney hurt them way more, but that's "collective action", and conservatives generally refuse to do that.

@NitroDubs Yeah Disney's problems are mostly self-inflicted and all DeSantis did was some half-measure which hasn't even gone into effect yet, so him claiming any kind of credit for it is disingenuous

@LouisConde I think a lot of his momentum was from crushing the 2022 midterm. That was a while ago now, and he hasn't had any real legislative achievement so far this session.
There's also the whole "Trump yet again sucking all the oxygen out of the room" with the NYC prosecution.

@NitroDubs All of his actual "accomplishments" are really tepid and unimpressive. Doing some weird technical thing that possibly, maybe, sort-of denies Disney some tax breaks is as far removed from what people care about right now as Scott Walker crushing the teacher's union in 2016.

Looks like Ron DeSantis is starting to lose his (manufactured) appeal, when he first came on the scene I pegged him as another Scott Walker and it seems he's peaked too soon just like Walker.
