   I wonder if more people can actually find my posts when I use hashtags.
   I haven't noticed them getting more responses.

     @Hyolobrika I think the only time hashtags would matter is when searching or mastodon's trending hashtags lists. for normal visibility I don't think it makes a difference.

     @thatguyoverthere I figure someone interested in, say, linguistics might browse the linguistics hashtag. That's why I use it.
     I guess it's also useful to people who want to find posts about linguistics. But no one has so far. Maybe fediblock is to blame?
     Also, IIRC some AP implementations allow you to follow hashtags. I can't remember which ones. Misskey's antennas, I think.
