     ...except when they can decide retroactively what is legal and what not, and punish you for it.

     I want anonymity now specifically because I have nothing to fear... yet.

     @eff @zoracon Everything will be abused by someone at some point. Doesn’t mean that we can’t have nice things because we fear how it will be abused.

     @eff @zoracon *And* safety! I can't use my real name online on a regular basis due to a #DomesticViolence situation with my ex, but certain social media sites don't allow usernames (or at least not as freely as they "advertise"), so it makes it difficult to open an account & participate in anything on them.
