   I mean American healthcare basically pays the drug R&D costs for pharmaceuticals worldwide, which makes it feasible for them to charge a lot less overseas, whereas they wouldn't develop those drugs if they had to rely on their much smaller European profit margins.

     Heard that Europeans and Canadians have "free" healthcare because of the profits generated from American private healthcare, that sounds a little off to me.
