   Haha. If I do that, I will lose connectivity. I'm unsure why I disabled OpenSSH shipped in base and replaced with OpenSSH portable on this machine. And now I'm afraid to make any change. LOL.

     @nixCraft Modern ssh seems to have a bit of a safety net with regard to updates: existing connections remain with their original server processes when you restart the server (even when that old server version isn't available/installed anymore).
     So after restarting the service, DON'T close your connection, but try a new one in parallel. When this works in full, close the old one. Until it does, you can use the old connection to fix your config and restart the server as many times as needed.
