The current mastodon android app, when you press "Load missing posts" sometimes load them below and sometimes above.
It is very annoying and forces you to scroll around when it does the opposite of what you want.
Does anybody know when it does what? To me it seems random.

@seindal @Mastodon This was added recently. If you are scrolling down, it will load older posts. If you are scrolling up, it will load newer posts.

@Gargron @seindal @Mastodon more precisely, if the gap popped out from behind the top edge of the screen, it will load above, otherwise it will load below.

I had kind if gathered that there was some logic to it, but I have a hard time making it work consistently.
Sometimes, if you've scrolled past the link and return, it goes the other way, because you scrolled backwards a bit.

Just right now, the link scrolled in at the bottom (I'm reading new to old), so I expect the posts to load below, but they loaded above. Now I have to scroll backwards to find where I was, manually.
Something isn't working.
