Is that not what we're seeing with "3.0" and the general dissident right? Realpolitik or radical pragmatism or whatever else you call it is functionality over ideology. It is not a condemnation of ideology as such but a recognition that perfect can be the enemy of good. Nothing wrong with piss and vinegar motivation, but that only lasts so long. It is good to have it in the young as it rejuvenates a group and reminds them of ideological goals.
