   Beltway Cons operate in more or less the same world, even if their constituents don't. The segment of America dealing with real things knows you can't build a house by calling the bricks white supremacist, or by putting out press releases talking about how the house has been built. Trump comes from a world of actually building shit, so his view of reality is fundamentally different from the Beltway, hence their incompatibility.

     For all of Trump's faults, this is one thing I do appreciate. If you listen to him talk, he discusses government as a structure erected from dirt. His dad was a contractor and so was he effectively. And given the size of his projects, he's worked with the working class, unions, politicians, bankers, and mafia. He knows how the sausage is made.
