     @arstechnica If Trump gets his way and puts a 20% tariff on imported goods, it will do a very thorough job of making the environment within the U.S. highly toxic. Unfortunately, right around half of Americans will point the finger of blame at Democrats, who by that point won't have been in power anywhere for a while.

     It won't matter: they'll believe it anyway, no matter how obviously false and ridiculous it is.
