@Kyonko802 they intentionally broke it so people who wanted to play a good dragon age game during all the media hype about the failure of the shitty new one would be unable and hoping that would cause more sales of the new title. Yes, they actually did that for real
@Kyonko802 well I haven't got a source but it the launcher is phoning home I expect they are in fact breaking it on purpose and if not I think they are leaving it broken on purpose
some claims do not require a source
this is one such claim, because the company has a duty to avoid the appearance of impropriety and has failed in this duty
if they had not failed you would be able to refute my claim without asking for a source. Therefore my claim is valid until proven invalid by bioware
@s8n nah the launcher for this game doesnt phone home anymore, I just think its broken on more modern systems and EA obviously doesnt give enough of a shit to update an actually good game when they've got their new shiny grooming game they want people to play
@BlinkRape@s8n What's weird is when I first switched to linux in like 2022 DAO was one of the first games I played. And I played it again in 2023. It's only NOW that I'm having issues.
@s8n Only saving grace is that once you get it going it works fine, and since the GOG version doesn't have any of this archaic launcher shit and just launches the game it works fine.
