@weaf @Umlaut i would have to say those people don’t have a lot of sense. western media has been trying to find a middle ground between anime and a mass market american style for forever, just in my lifetime you’ve got avatar 1:1 copying anime and marvel and dc comics both funding a kind of retarded amount of anime projects trying to make it work, and an even more retarded number of Hollywood anime adaptation, marvel eventually did strike gold with merging the two and making a lot of money in the process with spider verse, using an anime like style but with the American touch of making it about niggers, and having cute girls but with the American touch of giving them horrible nonbinary haircuts. globohomo can and wants to find a middle ground both for the purposes of actually making money from their media and for making better propaganda. And since anime is essentially just a copy of Disney from back when Disney made beautiful things modified slightly to appeal to Japanese it’s not that foreign to try and reintegrate into American (read, global) pop culture.
