    Ok so I'm still getting bad screen tearing on linux and I don't know wtf is the problem

    Compositor is activated
    Force Full Composition Pipeline is activated on both screens in the Nvidia settings, so what the fuck is the problem?

      @chjara it worked before. This is starting to be really annoying because it's realllly fucking random. MPV, no problems. Youtube, no problems. But random browsing? Screen tearing up the ass. Checking gifs in the computer? Screen tearing up the ass

      @coolboymew are you using nouveau or the nonfree drivers, X11 or wayland, which compositor, do you have another GPU (like integrated) to try to see if it's your setup or the drivers

      @coolboymew @chjara Seems like NVIDIA has been neglecting GPUs without the phrase "RTX" in it since my 3060 12GB lacks the screen tearing. I expect similar problems to creep up in a few years.

      You could temporarily stop your dm from starting on boot (on systemd you just have to stop then disable the service). Login on tty then make sure that nouveau is unloaded and that nvidia is loaded then start xorg manually and see if you have the same issues.

      @coolboymew @chjara I had issues with screen tearing that a compositor seemed unable to fix. Eventually I found an option called TearFree that could be set to true somewhere in xorg.d conf files. This was an intel APU though.
