I've been working out and losing a lot of weight, but my weight's been stalled at "obese minus one or two pounds" for a few weeks. It's time for me to kick my diet up to the next level.
I am about to go on the "Velocity Diet." It can be looked up, but the idea is functionally this:
1) You consume nothing but fucking protein shakes and supplements...to the tune of 900 calories a day.
2) You buy a big box of the stuff and that's your entire food intake for a goddamn month.
3) Yes you have to go work out and lift while doing this.
#NoFoodNovember let's fucking go

@sapphire @PafuPafuVt Yeah I'm kinda in the same spot with not losing weight/gaining muscle anymore. This is meant to be an anorexia-tier cut diet: we'll see how well this goes.
-
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @PafuPafuVt @sapphire Its not going to work lol
-
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @PafuPafuVt better to just go full cut, rebuild muscle after you hit about 10 pounds below your target weight
t. been trying to lift and cut at the same time, not losing weight and not gaining muscle
-
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @PafuPafuVt you’re not going to retain muscle through weight loss. Your body preferentially cuts back muscle over fat so you will see some reduction (especially when you end up hurting yourself trying to lift on an awful diet)
-
@sapphire @PafuPafuVt I know I won't retain all of it - I'm hoping for "lose less" rather than "gain more"
-
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating Fr friend, give yourself a week or two. Sometime weightloss is complicate, you might be retaining water, growing muscle, or just holding onto weight. If you are obese, your fat cells are going to try and stay as swelled up as long as possible. Do you measure your body by inches or just by weight?
-
@PafuPafuVt I'm aware that weight loss is complicated, but I'm somewhat clearly not making much more progress and I gotta hit the fucking gas on this stuff.
I report body fat percentage, and the gym has a machine that measures that pretty well (they charge a small fee to use it, but it's entirely reasonable to get it measured every month). I'm trying to reduce how much body fat I have while retaining most of my muscle, so it's more like I'm measuring two different weights.

End of week 1 of this abhorrent shit.
I skipped a total of two days of this diet: both for the sake of church socialization.
I haven't lost any appreciable amount of weight beyond what CICO would tell me I'm losing...which is fair. It seems like the big thing this diet is doing is it's allowing me to eat a very low number of calories without feeling overly hungry or tired: which is good enough.
I cranked up the weights on my lifts a little, and I feel fine. I'll push it up slowly to where I was before I started the diet, and at the end I'll see if I can push forward. Any improvement in lifts *while* losing weight is actually pretty great, and I'd like to see if I manage that.

Day 1 into this fucking insane shit
My body feels like I lit it on actual fire. I think there might be meth in the fucking supplements. There is no way that I feel any actual energy while being on a 1200 calorie deficit without meth or some shit.
A bajillion fluids flushed out of me. I'm already down about a pound.
I got both flavors of this as a bit of a hedge against picking a bad flavor. This was probably wise - the vanilla tastes stupidly better than the chocolate. I do this shit four times a day - I'm going to start out doing three of my meals being vanilla and one being chocolate - the chocolate one being mixed with coffee so that it is edible. I don't know what I'm going to do after the vanilla runs out, but honestly that's probably going to be when I give up because holy fuck the chocolate tastes bad.

Middle of day 3 of this shit
I have incorporated 1 (one (uno)) avocado taco into my meal plan to keep me mentally stable, and 2 (two (dos)) tacos into my meal plan on lift days for the same reason.
I had my first lift day yesterday. Because I backed off on my maximums quite a lot, it was actually pretty easy.
I'm going to church today as part of a function, so I'm going to break the diet a little to socialize.
I have a ridiculous amount of energy, and I feel very full all the time. I'm supposed to consume 2 scoops every 4 or so hours, and I just...I struggle to do it. It's weird, but those shakes aren't dense so my stomach's packed full of fluid all day.
I'm down another pound or so? It's hard to tell. I can tell that the diet somehow maintains your physical energy, but it's definitely already doing a number on my sanity and it makes it harder to socialize. It seems like an ideal diet for a shut-in.
