   @Wormwood The question this asks is would you rather have an ethernet port or 20 minutes of extra battery? A type A port, or 10?

   Only the autists like us care about ports, market research has kept carving away at what john q normiefag doesn't care about, only to delicately add it back in when even he complains

   That all-day battery life has to come from somewhere

     @Noraweed Space is space, payload is payload, all you have to do is crack open the new laptops to find out where the space is going. Easier offloading a ton of the USB spectrum into a self contained mission package that's optional than to integrate it.

     Obviously nobody wants ports all that much because even the autistic dream laptop that came out has the same selection as any other "ultrabook". Companies chase the average dollar, the ones grumbling about this (us) probably aren't dropping $4700 on a new laptop every year, anyways.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Wormwood Ports aren't being reduced to make room for a larger battery. If that were the case the laptops would stay thick. Ports are being reduced because they aren't "sexy" and they force a minimum thickness that also isn't "modern."
