Do you need to build a static website for fun or profit? Try the Simple.css Framework. It is a CSS framework that makes semantic HTML look good.
+ A good-looking sans-serif local font stack.
+ Typographic best practices.
+ Automagic flipping to dark mode.
+ Fully responsive.
+ Sensible defaults that format standard + HTML elements.
+ Super lightweight (10k css).
+ Give it a try @ https://simplecss.org/ (my home page https://vivekgite.com for live demo).

Bruno BEAUFILS (beaufils@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 23-Oct-2024 04:44:10 JST Bruno BEAUFILS Really nice and simpler than https://picocss.com/ but it lacks some important features in my eyes, such as:
- responsive menu rendering (ul in nav). main nav features set is really too simple.
- sticky tabular headersUnfortunately these features are not that simple and not offered by a lot a framework by default anyway.

Alison Meeks (alison@mastodon.online)'s status on Wednesday, 23-Oct-2024 06:17:16 JST Alison Meeks @mangelucci My next question as a web designer would be image sizing and making sure something suitable was served. The phone pic going to look like hell on a big screen etc. That being why I asked the questions I did of nixCraft :) @nixCraft

nixCraft 🐧 (nixcraft@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 23-Oct-2024 06:17:16 JST nixCraft 🐧 @alison @mangelucci You need multiple images to build responsive images with <img tag. It has a srcset and sizes option that is specially for that. Some CMS, like WP, do this by default, while others need manual solutions. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn/HTML/Multimedia_and_embedding/Responsive_images for more info.

*edit: typo
