I suspect they're going to miss some targets, like that 30% increase in cost just throwing it at the wall.
The devil is in the details, and in won't bode well if they don't incorporate security by design, plan for refreshes, and take a good hard look at what they'll have to charge for all that self-hosting (and if their market is going to be willing to pay that).
@arstechnica The redundancy and connectivity that the cloud offers is hard to replicate in your own on-premise environment. I've read this article multiple times now and it wouldn't work for us. Our production deployed in the cloud because our customers need the redundancy and connectivity we get there. Our R&D environment is in a colo because we don't need that redundancy and connectivity for our R&D environment.
