Do AI detectors work? Noop. About 2/3s of teachers report regularly using tools for detecting AI-generated content. At that scale, even tiny error rates can add up quickly.
Why are these teachers giving money to third parties sending kids homework for verification? I can't believe teachers can't detect kids' writing. Most humans can easily tell if AI writes it or not. Why does everything have to be so difficult now? It is like nobody wants to use their brains anymore.

@nixCraft Teachers are oftentimes using the tools that are given to them by their employers. Some teachers pay for tools that aren't supplied. But it comes down to a matter of time. As a college professor I can have 50+ Papers to read at different times during the semester. And I don't rely on ai detection. I can understand how somebody who doesn't understand the technology but is hearing the hype can think that they're going to easily be fooled And thus use the tools they're given.

@nixCraft It makes sense to me that if student shouldn't use "AI" teachers shouldn't either, even for detection purposes.
