   @rlier23 I don't think any tactical element would fix the situation. What can they do other than big picture shifts like understanding america's isolationist populism would do nothing to stop the washington machine's entry into war? The fact that all their humanitarian, genteel posturing towards the british would be worth nothing at all?

   It would have to be big game changers like destroying the panama interlocks early, unrestricted sub warfare, unhinged war crimes-ism to even put a dent in the track of history once they're committed to war to even make a real big change. The japs put up a fight because they were inhumanly ferocious to an insane degree, that was hard to cope with for us

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @rlier23 It's always saddening to read military histories of WWII because of this. The Krauts gave it their best shot, but after a certain point, it was a total strategic overmatch that I don't think anyone could cope with.
     Us Yankees had an almost endless supply of Nebraska farmboys to throw into Shermans, the Soviets could leverage an absurd amount of guys into T-34s and IL-10s, etc.

     @Racist_Columbo @rlier23 The bleakest parts are when they see the logistics being set up. There are similarly blackpilled stories from all sides, blankly watching as americans unload a brand new airfield with so many spares they can afford to throw them away with just a few bullet holes.

     I really think few in europe could even conceive how amenable the american workforce was towards war footing. They didn't want to get involved, but once they were they had no problem sending mom into the douglas factory to lose a pinky riveting free planes for stalin. A kind of naivete across the board in how they dealt with us. "Surely the american's wouldn't......" only to sit there watching an ice cream barge come in better guarded than their country's last tanker

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @rlier23 It's impressive that they lasted as long as they did - American industry could pretty easily support that while also using trucks for the entire logistics chain, while also providing an absurd amount of air coverage.
     I read somewhere that during the breakout from Normandy, the Army Air Corps dropped somewhere in the ballpark of 60,000 bombs on one 3.5 mile stretch for about an hour.
     I just wish that effort and energy were directed at just about anything else.

     @Racist_Columbo @rlier23 It's like my pet offense, after all this time I'm still pissed they bloodied our women's knuckles just to give free stuff to the jews in russia. So baldly dumb and against our own interests, I just can't get behind the kayfabe of the cold war at all.

     When the soviets were close to extinction and loss, americans were forced at gunpoint to drop everything, give up essential freedoms and traditions, all so they could till the fields, mine the iron, and rivet the sheeting to keep the soviets in this world.

     Then 3 years later, with their station on the world stage stronger than ever, survival entirely assured forevermore, we're supposed to edge on the brink of existential war for the next 100 years

     They not only did that but used women's place in industry during ww2 to demand one feminist concession after another. Older boomer women will still regurgitate the talking point: "women weren't *given* anything! We were payed what we were owed from working the factories!!"
