     All social networks discourage linking to external sources. When they detect such links, they often hide the posts from followers. The only way to ensure visibility on these platforms is by paying to boost posts. It's interesting to note that the foundation of the World Wide Web, the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), relies on hypertext links to load webpages. Essentially, these platforms are working against the use of hypertext links.

     Mark and his tech bro gang essentially hijacked the Internet with 4 or 5 apps. Luckily, open source is rescuing with decentralized social networking apps such as Mastodon, Pixelfed, PeerTube, etc. I hope more people join these open-source movements and set the web free once again.

     @spokeek Well, it's up to us, the users of the web and apps. We made these apps powerful, and if we stop using them, their value will be gone. Sadly, it's not that easy, and I agree with that, but a boy can dream, can't he?

     But you're right, gafam hijack the net with app and worse, they are a big part of the internet backbone .....
