@Umlaut @Paultron @weaf This behavior would've made more sense in that time period because people could more easily get away with shit in the 40s. In modern day I'm just wondering "Nobody's calling the cops? Writing down their license plate? There are fuckin security cameras everywhere. How can they just do this regularly and have zero consequences?"

@bleedingphoenix @Type_Other @Umlaut @Paultron The solution to the "everyone has a cellphone" is you allow them to solve problems but also have them create problems for the characters and then that creates conflict that drives the story. Criminals have to account for panopticon level surveillance, regular people will get their phones smashed/stolen, etc

@Type_Other @Umlaut @Paultron @weaf it is crazy how much damage smartphones have done to modern storytelling. suddenly everyone has this device that can solve most predicaments writers can throw people in.
