@Moto_Chagatai given the current level of credibility of current scientific studies. "Well, I would be wary..." →Sokal scandal (1990s) If a study is launched, at least reveal the number of the sample of participants and the technical data of how the response was measured: being "objective or subjective" and any other factor that could influence the perception of public opinion that was surveyed as a participant.
@Ota1504@Moto_Chagatai It's a real problem that affects even serious scientific hard research however due to their nature they have given us more reliable data than soft sciences. Which is a reason why in these failure of academic rigorousness I make a small distinction and try not to lump them together The first solution to try to tackle this problem is to decentralize publishers, rigorous background in strong science and less on bs humanities (not saying all humanities are bullshit btw), take out the big pharma / big tech interest from scientific studies, focus more on research methodology among others. What do you think?
@lilianabreeder@Moto_Chagatai In all honesty, it is one of the few specific cases that I remember even by name...?! it has infiltrated and mixed serious studies with propaganda writings due to the dishonest practices adopted by the awakening during the last decades. But it is necessary to return to serious scrutiny and purify the documents that have been taken by certified studies "already authenticated and approved by peers" Even if this triggers a strong academic scandal again.
@Ota1504@Moto_Chagatai speaking of relativists: "Manspreading — a complaint levied against men for sitting with their legs spread wide — is akin to raping the empty space around him."
@Ota1504@Moto_Chagatai Agree Diversity should be sought if sound and needed, not just because and not at the expense of scientific rigor. In the case of gender studies, they are, almost 99% chance, bullshit.
@Ota1504@Moto_Chagatai this is concerning due to even very good academic, state-of-the-art universities have some "gender studies", "diversity quotas" and other trivial things I say trivial, because these diversity hires/programs should be randomized not enforced, if diversity is good, for their department.
@lilianabreeder@Moto_Chagatai If it is a serious study, every area of knowledge that needs to be consulted should be taken into account. This is fine but ideologies/lobbies should be purged from the equation as you rightly point out. They should only deliver as objective an analysis as possible.
