Well, given that he's likely Gen X at the youngest, those types tended to get hitched with kids after a drunken mistake, so I figured it was more likely than if he was, say, some Millenial soyboy, for example. :zt_naruhodo:

Nah, he's not "ignorant", he's a boomer projecting all his own insecurities on the one thing he perceives as being "lesser" than him. He's probably even more upset given how anime and manga have completely displaced Hollywood and other Western cultural icons.
Basically, he, like all boomers, is still stuck 50 years in the past when anime was a weird, distant thing only the lowest social classes took part in.
(And he thinks the world still runs on highschool "cool kids" rules. So, you know, par for the course :akko_weary: )
