   Oh! I finally understand why people are so worried LLM (like ChatGPT) are going to 'destroy' the design industry:

   It's because people keep thinking UX is just 'making things pretty' 😡

   If you actually understood what UX *really* does (negotiating with stakeholders, understanding tech constraints, creating vocabulary to manage tradeoffs) then you'd understand how ridiculous this fear is.

   If you say this, you really don't understand UX at all.

     @scottjenson The tricky thing here is that bosses who believe this, plenty of whom are won over by flashy visuals as opposed to software which actually does its job, could do a lot of damage.

     Just look at the struggle professional translators face given how many employers think machine translation is good enough! When it isn't.
