I did a lot of gardening today on some MNT Reform USB device/firmware code and related CI: —Keyboard V4 fw builds are now in CI: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform/-/jobs/6301/artifacts/browse —Charger soft-start workaround merged for motherboard 2.5 system controller —USB vendor and product IDs updated for all keyboard, trackball and trackpad variants (to the ones we got from https://pid.codes) —Meaningful USB product names per build variant, like "MNT Reform Keyboard 4.0 Intl/LT" (i.e. non-US layout, laptop mode)
@mntmn It's annoying that you didn't make video ports to use the mnt reform as an external screen, I'm going to have to tinker with a modification but otherwise, wow, I don't have the money yet but it's crazy. The product is just magnificent, I'm really in love, it allows so many things, and the principle of a laptop PC can really be improved, I'm 100% in it. Just to know, is it possible to connect an egpu?
@ctyoim eGPU: it might be possible @ rk3588 but i don't know the current state of supported/stable PCIe GPUs for the platform. i will look into it at some point though. we had some success with GPUs on the LS1028A module, but it doesn't have a lot of processing power.
@mntmn that's the whole problem of a dedicated gpu inside the mnt reform, excluding consumption, barely released it's already obsolete 🥲 But thank you for the answer 🙏, I hope that an external egpu is possible, the cpu is good enough on the rk3588 to maintain a constant 60fps in 1080p in theory, that finally allows the video stream to be done, then to make AI training would be nice
@mntmn I am a data scientist and security tester, npu and other perf ia are extremely useful for understanding and summarizing architectures
then quite simply to summarize large groups of data, do precise research in systems, or optimize architectures it is essential. since I work remotely and I don't even have space for a PC at home, a laptop is my only option, a modular PC being perfect in view of my possibility of adapting the modules and internal system allowing to adapt to each operation
