Saturn V, the rocket that actually carried man to the Moon had perfect maiden flight 57 years ago when it made 2 full orbits around Earth and landed safely. #Starshit didn't achieve orbit after 5 launches, all these were suborbital flights with much lower velocity, and still didn't manage to land safely. This time, stage-2 didn't disintegrate like last time, but was still damaged beyond repair, i.e. not reusable.

The speed of Starship was fast enough for orbit. They just didn't do a circularizing burn to circularize the orbit to have it's lowest point above the atmosphere. Learn orbital mechanics so you don't put your foot in your mouth.matrix07012 :thotpatrol: :cunnyEmpire: likes this. -

I should also mention SpaceX is reentering the largest object ever in a controlled reentry for a controlled landing. It landed. When it fell over was when it blew up. Likely from impact with the water. It is a 70 meter tall object falling on it's side. I'd like to see you make an object that large that stays intact when it falls on it's side. The fact that SpaceX got it to space and back is a major feat.matrix07012 :thotpatrol: :cunnyEmpire: likes this. -

Also the direct return to landing site, without need to transport. This is really big. This never happened before. All early rocketry now seems like baloons in the 19th century. Falcon 9 maybe like early dirigibles...
