     I hate being on the road sometimes, I hate having to be sociable for every hour of the day, no decompression time. You wake up, someone's right there interacting with you

     you get breakfast together - he's there

     you take a morning shit - he's there

     you preflight and file the plans - he's there

     you head into the fbo to sneakily fill the stanley with some coffee and he follows right behind you like he's pikachu yellow version

     Then when you turn in and shut down, he's there in the van

     then he's there as you head up to the rooms

     he's there when you go out and get something to eat

     and he's going to ask if you can open the interstitial hotel door "just to hang out" because "it's only 7 pm and I gotta talk to my wife"

     Then you get to witness someone else's weird, gay marriage in person and that's similarly awkward

     I CAN do all that stuff but it just wears on me. When I'm interacting with people I have to put in extra energy and attention in order to be the chipper, likable, politically correct-ish guy that can get ahead in life. After a few days of constant sunup-to-sundown socializing it just burns me out for a bit, and then people wonder if I'm in a pissy mood just because I want to sit and be the boring NPC in silence for a change

     anyways I love this artist, his figures are downright perfect to me.

     @BroDrillard It's just this thing a lot of guys do, they just don't have the ability to exist in a strange town alone. It's like they're mentally in this buddy system thing, so even if I tell them I wanna turn in for the night at 6 pm and call my lady, fart around on the computer, write something they respond with "oh cool I was going to do the same, let's do it in the same room so we aren't lonely"

     I sometimes wonder if people have a deep emotional wound eating away at their soul, and they genuinely hate being alone in the quiet because it draws them into processing it and enduring whatever it is. It's weird, adult men shouldn't need a buddy system, but the majority love it, even if it's me being the nerdy DD and walking them around shitty bars downtown

     Perhaps these are the people who lack the inner voice. They need to fill the dead air inside their heads with another person talking or moving around them.
     
     I totally understand your discomfort, I'm also often happier on my own.
