DunkagKind of a strange thought, but I really want more music with the feeling of collapse and distress. Speed rising, distressed vocals if a vocal track, parts of the track being added or removed, the stress of things needing to be finished now else never again. It's a feeling so rarely captured but damn if it doesn't feel good when it is. I'm also likely not explaining it the best due to my frankly poor understanding of music terms.
@Kyonko802 :cirno_think: I actually don't have much experience with horror games, though Silent Hill is the type to interest me most. That is to say, I'm inclined to believe with my lack of knowledge that Silent Hill's OST is more atmospheric stress and building fear over time than direct stress about the current situation. I could be entirely wrong on that though.
here's a couple which aren't rap or hiphop. not really trying to hit the target at this point, just trying to see if there's similar moods you might like.
@Nepiant First track's good at setting a mood, but rather lacking as music. Feels like it needs a complimentary thing to go with, not meant to be pure audio. Second track's nice, I enjoy. Feels like it needs a little more to stand out, but I would listen to it every now and again. Music is complex and while I could keep discussing it all night, I do find it hard to even pinpoint what I enjoy in music since my main taste is a sloppy mix of genres, original and arrange tracks mainly from Touhou but also whatever else randomly resonates.
@Nepiant :cirno_think: It's hard to say if these capture the right feeling, but that's only really because I'm not a big fan of rap nor hip hop. Thanks for trying, but I'm simply not into these kinds of tracks.
@Nepiant Quite a bit off but interesting nonetheless. I think my descriptor was quite bad though, it's hard to describe the exact type of anxiety or uncertainty I'm looking for. I think a slightly more apt description would be a foregone anxiety, a stressful attempt at one last action even if it's hopeless and struggles to reach anyone. It's not a perfect example, but The End of Hatsune Miku captures some of that feeling, the song morphing, speeding up, slowing down, all in one desperate attempt at leaving a lasting mark. Again, hardly a perfect example, and its genre isn't the most ideal for the feeling. Hopeless hope I guess?
