   I have a feeling that the people in gg, Coalguys, Commiesubs, etc. who used to sub anime "for free" are now part of the loooocalizer clique.
   Or maybe they've always been like that?

     A lot of the older groups did fine work doing the actual translation. The problem is that far too many have fallen back on just, at best, "fixing" the official subs, and at worst use them verbatim and only encode them.
