Oh yeah, that happened.
-
@rainignterror1080p it's still in early development, 6 years later.
-
@Meemoo is it out or just a trailer? i'll just sail for it either way

@rainignterror1080p @Meemoo
it's probably gonna be mediocre at best, the quality of bethesda games has been declining from the first one they published, it's surprising how consistent they are in that regard
as an experiment just list the main bethesda game studios releases in reverse chronological order
The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind (2002)
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion (2006)
Fallout 3 (2008)
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim (2011)
Fallout 4 (2015)
Fallout 76 (2018)
Starfield (2023)

@eldr @rainignterror1080p oh my other post was local. gonna shove my point here so I don't have to repeat myself to other posters.
The biggest problem with AAAA game development is that studios spend like 6 years coming up with an idea then 1/2 years doing actual development.
They lack a vision and the amount of DEI hires doesn't help either.
I wouldn't be surprised if prolonging development periods like this was the dev's clever way of justifying keeping their salaries for longer while showing investors that the games have a "big budget"

@Meemoo ??? Unless they took that 6 years to get the original skyrim team and gave them unlimited resources to perfect this idk why it's still in early development
