     A commenter on Twitter siad something poignant. One of the grievances of the American colonists was that the British military actively prevented colonists from going defend their homes from Injun raids during the French and Indian Wars. While people harp on the Stamp Act, there was already bad blood by the time of the Declaration and the Battle of Lexington.
     
     The regime is playing with fire and only some of the regime know it.

     I believe it also happened with Tsarist Russia and plenty of other cases. Soldiers sign up to protect their homelands, and a regime that too blatantly doesn't give a shit about that and makes it obvious to its troops is one whose lifespan is limited.

     The good news is shit like this only burns through what little goodwill towards these institutions still exists. The gay shit and vax mandates already were taking a toll on recruitment. It'll be hilarious once a full-scale war in the Middle East breaks out and DC has nobody to fight for it.
