I'm scared shitless of an actual happening because I actually try thinking about what it might be like. People who talk shit, but don't actually take anything seriously are gonna fare much worse than that.

@ArdainianRight @rher @shedinja @SrbijaStronk I'm not a super prepper or anything, but as long as you have a bit of food, water, and a few cheap supplies for emergencies, you're far more ready than than about 95% of Americans.

It's also important to have people you care about and a faith in God to keep you sane. A lot of people have nothing to live for and will lose their minds if easy access to goyslop is disrupted.

Some will just choose to ruin everything for everyone else because it is their nature. We are not all that different from our ancestors, if anything we're much less able to suppress our crazy monkey instincts when things turn bad, because the cultural and social forces that were once in place to suppress them have atrophied.

Good point. I do think that if we ever find ourselves in an apocalypse scenario, most of our troubles will be other people. Not because it's our nature or anything Hobbsean like that, but because some will just choose to ruin everything for everyone else.
