     So you drop over a thousand bucks on a device (with the VR option) and some how this (and all the additional subscription models) doesn't cover the life cycle costs of a mass produced product, so that injected ads are necessary?
     Looks like a failed business case...

     @arstechnica I thought Sony’s whole pitch was that you don’t have to connect a PlayStation to the internet, and if you do connect it to the internet, don’t you need to pay Sony a subscription for that privilege? Integrating ads into that experience sounds insane.

     @arstechnica haha maybe this will wake up some of the fanboys wishing death upon other gaming consoles/pc etc to the fact that Sony is just another large global corporation who don't have their backs.
