     @arstechnica The Southern Appalachians are already wet, due to their elevation and their proximity to the Gulf and the Atlantic Coast. Such events have happened and will happen again, though likely with greater frequency given more hurricanes. This piece adds little information to the ongoing story of the hurricane.
