If you think Ubuntu (or insert any other distro of your choice here) is the worst Linux distro... then remember ChromeOS exists, which is the worst Linux distro out there, crippled by Google with all sorts of things.
ChromeOS is a cloud OS that just happens to run the Linux kernel. It was created by Google to run web apps and encourages users to use the Google Drive cloud service for storage. There is zero compatibility for running full-fledged Linux apps. It doesn't support GNOME or KDE. The Chrome browser acts as the interface. It is lockdown to death and much less vulnerable to traditional viruses and malware than Windows, Linux or macOS but it's not completely immune to virus/malware/phishing etc
@nixCraft That's why I don't count ChromeOS as a Linux distro just like I don't count truth.social as part of the Fediverse. ChromeOS is to Linux what truth.social is to the Fediverse.
@nixCraft Do they run a vanilla kernel, but with their userland locked-down? Because running a modified kernel without providing source code would be a pretty big GPL violation I would think.
