Kmart currently has two stores left in the continental US. One is closing next month on Long Island, the other is a smaller than normal location in South Florida that takes up the room of what was once the garden section of a normal store.
In my adult life I can remember them being nearly as universal as Walmart, and now they are basically extinct.

@mackya @UnCL3 There's little reason to go to one now, unless there's some specific thing you want that day. The people at malls are just as ugly and out of shape as anywhere else, the products are just as overpriced (if not more so), and now there's the new wrinkle of diversity making trips in and out of malls equivalent to gun runs in Falluja in certain cities.

I recentely read reviews of the mall near me that used to be my favorite mall. Back in the day there was no bus lines to this mall, so it was nigger and spic free. Now there is a bus line in the area, almost all the stores are shuttered and people's biggest complaint is how dirty it is now. The old malls is a great analogy of our decaying country.

malls are dead zones...except maybe da ones in da hoods.

There's a few near me still struggling on. I have not been in one for over a decade.

I don't think there's any department stores out there doing well.
