     @lapin @Vidmastereon I thought the reason was to protect the regional japanese version of the game. Can't give us japanese subs because it'll cannibalize the japanese games market because steam has all those fancy steam sales. (This was before more japanese people adopted steam.) Well that was the explanation I heard anyways.
     
     It's akin to how english anime Blu-rays don't let you remove subtitles if you're using jp dub. They don't want japanese people reverse importing the western blu-ray which costs a lot less than the original japanese blu-ray.
