@kauer They are blocking content on YouTube that shows videos and removing many other stuff, such as ads and tracking. Thus, better privacy. From Google's POV, they lose money if too many people use Invidious. Hence, the ban. Check out https://invidious.io/ for more info.
@nixCraft If it's just the ads you want to block then I've found YouTube in Brave browser is fine. You may need to be logged in to view some content however, but as already mentioned, Freetube (desktop) or Newpipe (Android) got you covered if you want better anonymity 👍
@nixCraft seems like they just blacklist a ip that's accessing the server too much without proper auth. because vpns still work just has to be in a not used as much country (at least from my experience)
