@Tony If you need your VPS to be able to dial something on your home network you should look into setting up a vpn tunnel.
This is a time honored method of circumventing CGNAT, it's what I've done for years.

oh that makes sense. I just know when I was setting up the VPS it couldn't connect to ipv4 internet and when I would ping the router i would lose all the packets. I didn't get much farther from that because I got annoyed lol

@Tony Your router doesn't actually have an internet ipv4 address, it is behind a big NAT that comcast runs itself

because i have to adjust network firewall settings to allow a new ip to ping the router

@Tony I don't think that's strictly necessary PLUS you are almost certainly behind cgnat which means nothing can ping your router

@Tony Why would you need your xfinity password to setup a vps?

I forgot my password and their gay fire wall settings made the network set up not working.
So i had to give up
