   New drives arrived today. 2 x 4TB WD RED (CMR).

   And holy shit was it an absolute fucking garbage fire to get this working…

   Paid at least 20 bucks too much for the data cables because none came with the drives and the cheaper place didn't have any left so I had to go to the expensive but shitty electronics "discounter".

   No space for more disks in the case, so they're now hanging from one screw each in the optical drive bay, which is extremely horrible.

     And then the PSU had bad contacts on the ATX connector because to connect to the amp, I had crammed 0.75mm copper wires in there, which widened the contacts, so I had to tighten them up again with a small screwdriver.

     I cannot wait to get the loft bed, platform and 19" rack all done…

     The complete lack of free space to work in without constantly having to shift shit around, easily reachable components and dedicated space for tools makes working here incredibly fucking frustrating.

     PSU in the machine didn't have enough SATA power connectors, so I had to swap in the PSU I use for the sound system.

     Drives and PSU were an absolute horror to fit because the case I currently use for that machine is cheap old shit and when I finally managed to squeeze the new PSU in, it plucked out cables from two drives without it being easily visible.

     Adrian Cochrane repeated this.
