@arstechnica This sounds like a great way for Microsoft to receive a white elephant it's going to regret for many years to come.
@arstechnica Nuclear energy is "the future" until it's mismanaged, and, like all energy, it's eventually mismanaged. Personally, I'd call a private corp laying claim to a plant's energy for 20 years to offset its rapacious labor theft--sorry, AI--dreams a special kind of mismanagement before it's even opened courtesy of our tax dollars. One wonders how much worse it'll all look if this happens after four years of Project 2025 tearing through federal and state govs and their regulatory bodies.
@arstechnica this feels breathtakingly short-sighted. *sigh*
@arstechnica They wouldn't do it if they had to pay for the handling, tansport and storage of the nuclear waste.
This is still paid by the tax payer, you (which is also the expensive part of running a nuclear power plant), for the next <insert any number between 100 and 5,000,000> years.
So thank you all for support and helping Microsoft running the AI crap.
