In the world's many love stories and histories, the conflict between opposites is something that ignites the passion of many. As well as the differences between men and women, humans and monsters, there are also witches and the faithful of the Inquisition. More than one young witch keeps romance books between these opposites and more than one mature witch has one of these hidden away in her library.
Passions between witches and knights don't occur often, but they are incendiary when they do. Recent understandings and times of peace, however, have led to fewer tragedies and more happy endings. More and more witches are getting married following the traditions of the Church, although they are fonder of those with beautiful gardens and forests.
In addition to romantic fantasies, there is a practical attraction common to all witches. They like intelligent men, and recognize that this quality has many facets. Wizards, scientists and philosophers are common peers, but wise witches know that strength and intelligence are not restricted to one profession. Warriors, farmers, carpenters, writers, blacksmiths, knights... Everyone can possess curiosity, hobbies, creativity... All this attracts the attention of witches. When in a relationship, they like to talk and exchange ideas with their loved ones. They try to participate in their lives and learn at least a little about their hobbies and appreciate it when their husbands do the same.
More mature witches tend to take charge and be a bit nosy about the love lives of young people, not just those of their families. “Everyone is young for a moment, sometimes even the older ones.” In certain communities, young couples have to pass not only the approval of their own families, but also that of the local priest and witch; two professionals at sniffing out troublemakers.
