It was not worth the time. Book is still a go-to for me as an example of why I don't listen to recommendations

@DEERBLOOD @JSDorn @doctorsex @nierenstein It's a 6/10 at best. It's got the bones of an interesting book but it's just missing some ingredient to tie it together, relies very heavily on that meta narrative of the video, the record, the author's dumb family drama, and it goes nowhere interesting.
Like many books it's more interesting because of the worldbuilding the reader does in their head, than the author's actual work. But it's been 10 y since I read it so who knows. I'm sure the movie adaptation will rule
