@qwerty @mimorinka yes, the anime community and other overall Japanese-media centric communities (usually with a big overlap), are quick to adopt such term if there's something major in the community is using it
For example, Chunnibyou, is a word that I've seen explode in popularity after Steins;Gate and Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, which were both highly watched and highly regarded anime at the time -

@mimorinka menhera is really only known within the anime, manga and vtuber scene. The average English speaker wouldn't know what menhera is and wouldn't know what it means either -

@mimorinka @qwerty yes and no I'd say? It's a word that's hard to translate because from what I understand, it started as a manga and anime universe word in the first place
I have no idea if there's actual 5th graders that go around telling everyone they're fallen angels in Japan, but there's some weird people that does this here too
Usually the chosen translation for this is "Delusions". Funny enough, there's a cartoon here called "Mona the Vampire" that is exactly like the concept of Chuunibyou
Edgelord is not exactly quite like it. Yes and no, because it depends on the context I think -

@mimorinka @qwerty Oh, I've had my fair shares of smiling weirdly at my screen and getting all sorts of looks too
