@nixCraft The memory and hardware access requirements tend to limit adoption for me. My typical (local) server is a 4GB RAM mini PC or thin client with only one (or zero) available SATA port and lots of USB ports.

@nixCraft when I got my new Lenovo laptop a couple of years back, I saw the ZFS option during install (Ubuntu 20.04), iirc I was able to reboot once then the hard drive borked and I had to RMA it. I don't know it was ZFS or Ubuntu's fault, but I've been avoiding that SSD firmware update Snap that has been presenting itself to me ever since 😝 I shall pluck up the courage to try again next opportunity I get!
