yeah.... So happy I plunged into self-employment. I'm only still just getting my shit together but every day is brighter. Way better than retailslavery. Not as good pay as being a wagie but honestly it just saves me so much money and time

That's really cozy. I went debt free about 2 months ago, but it wasn't that much - I think about $1.2k? Bought a car and paid it off a few months later.

@Tactical gf was $6k in debt when I met her, no college education, she had just made some incredibly naive decisions while in high school and racked up loans before she understood what she was doing
2 years of me managing her finances later and she is debt free
it's not a lot compared to the average american debt but it's still the first time in her adult life she's been free from financial burden and even if the relationship goes south I'm pretty happy that I've significantly improved her life
she also stopped smoking, doesn't cut herself anymore, and is no longer malnourished
